Beautiful
I thought this was a cute keepsake. As always, Cyber Night Market exceeds expectations. The packaging was beautiful and the product is high quality.
I thought it would be annoying to require different components to add up to enough wattage, but it turns out I actually love how you can put the different Torches in different locations and move them around as needed! Thank you, Nukit!
Loved the quality and accuracy of the design. Thank you for thinking of this.

from 244 reviewsWe needed a nearly-silent purifier for my husband's classroom. He's a computer science teacher and at a quick glance, this looks like a large gaming PC. It took less than an hour to build and looks very sleek—and, most importantly, is very very quiet. He's thrilled with the volume and the complete unobtrusiveness of the unit.
I very much appreciate the innovation, function, form, and ethics behind this set of devices. It is important to me to be able to approach airborne pathogen risk reduction from a range if layered approaches, and having this as one more tool in the toolkit for risk reduction, along with masking, airflow considerations, testing, etc., is reassuring. The product is well made, well packaged, and aesthetically pleasing. I personally use it when traveling, particularly when dining outside at night when there is no sunlight to provide the germicidal UV. I do not rely on it or any strategy for complete protection, but very much appreciate the ability to add more risk reduction to the mix. Thanks, Cyber Night Market!
As someone who is not great and building things, this was fairly easy and straightforward to assemble after getting it in the mail and following the online instructions.
The design is very clever - filters fit nicely and the box has ample room and form for great customization, so I was able to swap in some nice computer fans that I liked.
It's not too loud and is very sturdy. The amazon links to recommended products was also very helpful for someone as not-knowledgeable as myself. Extra nice that extra screws etc. were included because I definitely lost some in the building process (I put one down somewhere and forever forgot where).
I'm a middle-aged biracial woman with middle-aged friends and senior parents. I absolutely cannot afford to catch covid - I can't afford to lose money, resources, time, or brainpower. I spent three of the past 11 days in emergency rooms accompanying people with various ailment and injuries, and I deployed a set of lights in the room every time, along with masking myself and my charges.
I've had craft/meal hangouts with a couple of other people and deployed a set of lights in the room, along with ventilation/cracked windows, and personal HEPA. Went to the movies, stuck them in the cupholders and adjacent seats.
My dad lives in a small care home and when mobile doctors come to see him, I put the UVC torches in his room (along with a HEPA).
I've also taken them to multiple doctors appointments and dental visits myself in the past month.
I bought a second set so I'll have backups at the ready (which has already paid off, as I had to do a turnaround from a hangout to ER without the opportunity to recharge the first set - second set was ready to go).
The build quality of these lights is impressive, the packaging is top notch, and the carry case is super handy. I'm very grateful that these were made available.
Oh, also, shipping was superfast from China to Arizona and professionally handled with on-point tracking info and secure protective packing.
I did not have any significant issues putting this thing together. It was pretty straightforward. It's pretty quiet and I have no problems running this thing 24-7 vs the cube I made a while back with a box fan that was pretty loud. I will say that the recommended fans were kind of backordered on Amazon and it took like three weeks to get them, so you may want to give some alternate options there. I believe something else was also not available anymore and I had to find a equivalent, so check those links.
The other thing I'll mention is I was having some trouble inserting the filter covers without them bunching up, but just taking a couple small strips of masking tape and taping them to the filters made it much easier to get them in there.
Got this as an upgrade from a diy CR box. Works great with nordic pure filters with the activated carbon layer built in. Took maybe an hour to assemble. Getting wires out of the way of fan blades was the hardest part.
Delivery was ahead of schedule. The lamps are everything that I hoped for.
I’ve used these lights as part of a layered strategy to drastically reduce risk of covid infection in enclosed spaces where I might need to remove my mask briefly (to eat or drink). I like the research data Naomi Wu provides and as I’ve been following her social media for several years, I felt her creation of these antiviral far-UVC lights at a relatively affordable price helped make this solution much more available to the many covid informed and cautious people out there. They’re durable, work well, and are easy to use. So glad this product exists!
Everything fits nicely. It's light weight, very quiet and easy to move around. I love not having to pay huge sums for proprietary filters anymore.
Near silent for the amount of air it moves. This kit was easy to assemble and comes with the correct size mesh for this use case. Love it.
Thank you for providing an affordable option for personal far UVC protection. These are easy to use, and I love that they come with a carrying case. It’s another tool in my covid mitigation strategy - especially for Dr appts where I need to unmask. I can just put the case in my purse and quickly pull out/set up when needed.
Verified the filter process and there is no doubt it works !
PS. I added an on off button in order to not have to unplug the cable when not needed.
I love this product. It moves a lot of air, is quiet for how much air it filters, and is well built, feeling like real gear you can take on the road. We bought 4 of these for a professional neuroscience gathering as part of a broader COVID-prevention strategy that included daily LAMP testing, masked travel, etc., and were very pleased with them. I installed slightly upgraded fans (be quiet! Silent Wings Pro 4 140mm PWM High Speed 2400 RPM Premium Low Noise Cooling Fan | 4-Pin | BL099) from the recommended ones, rotating at 2400rpm, which require the jumper to connect them, as they do not daisy chain on their own. Final result measured at 48dB on my iPhone spectrum analysis app (RTA) at 1 meter when fans at top speed. Very happy with the result. Thanks for your great design and implementation work!
So i got three more to send off with the kids to college.
Thanks Naomi and team for making a version of Nukit that's shipped from Canada. I always try to shop Canadian to avoid customs/import fees. I got two of these kit to help with wildfire season smoke. I have a box fan, and that thing is SO loud that I can't hear anything when I'm around it. These kits are WAY MORE QUIET than the box fan. Both kits running = still much quieter than 1 box fan.
I built them myself. Everything was very well packaged and nothing was damaged. One of the provided "5.5mm barrel jack to 4-pin PWM connector" cable seems to be a sensitive (e.g., fans don't power on unless I twist the barrel jack connection a specific way) but seems to be working now that I've figured that out.
The hardest part for me was researching and sourcing the other parts up front. For the build itself, the hardest part was trying to push the rectangular plastic connector into the rectangular metal hole.
Instead of using the provided zip ties, I just used gaffer's tape to tape wires down to the curved exterior enclosure of each fan. Probably looks more uggo, but it's easy to redo if I ever need to. It doesn't seem like the you have to be precise with the daisy-chaining of fan wires. I connected them a bunch of different ways and they all seemed to work. I didn't buy the fan grills/protectors, since it's unlikely (in my environment) that stuff will touch the fan blades.
I have a white one for my living room (which is the black metal one, covered in white gaffer's tape, but you could paint it for more permanence) and then the original black one for a different room. Arctic has white fans for more $, but a word of caution (after 1+ month of running non-stop) is that I've noticed that these fans might expel some of their motor/lubricant oil onto the interior edges of the fan enclosure, which happens to be very visible on the white.
Here are a few other Canadian suppliers (no affiliation) I used, in case that helps others who are accumulating parts for this build:
FILTERS: "Furnace filters Canada" has 12-bulk packs. It's a huge pack (in dimensions/size), so make sure you have storage space. They shipped via Canada Post.
FANS: "Memory Express" sometimes has stock for a comparable price. As a last resort, I also used "Aero Malls" seller via Amazon.
Note: it's easy to get the incorrect fan models because it looks like a jumble of letters to non-tech-inclined. From what I cursorily understand:
P14 = the size of the fan (140mm)
PST= fan with high static pressure (related how well your fan deals with airflow)
PWM = pulse width modulation (related to the amount of power your fan uses)
The recommended P14 PST PWM also comes packaged with a CABLE SPLITTER that is what's used in Nukit for daisy chaining, so if you opt for a different model, your fan may not come with the cable splitter!
I've undoubtedly spent a lot of money up-front on everything, but also feel like it was an investment so that future me doesn't have to worry about air filtration/filters for the next 4 years. I also feel that it's worthwhile to support the availability of a DIY kit—learning through making, buy-it-for-life / using less waste, etc. and of course, support Naomi!
